Four tidbits

Working on some new decks, it’s funny how I subconsciously started thinking about a lot of the flashier cards I mentioned two times during Mirrodin Besieged-previews. Maybe writing about it did this, maybe it was a natural course of events. There’s the Tezzeret-deck with the singleton Spine of Ish Sah. In more recent developments, I can now write about Shimmer Myr, Galvanoth and Glissa, the Traitor in the context about both new and familiar decks. Continue reading

Sculpting white silver

This post is a continuation of Mono White Silver.

The first version of every deck I make is mostly theory-based and therefore not initially equipped to do serious battling with. Not everyone can make decklists like PVDDR can, right? So a few days ago I launched the first version of my new white/silver (meaning artifacts) Prototype Portal-deck. I played a bit with it (just goldfish, unfortunately) and now I’m here to share the changes I’ve made. Now the deck should be ready to enter the final phase of testing: playing real-life opponents to interact with. Continue reading

Mono White Silver

New sets mean new opportunities. The latest Magic set, Scars of Mirrodin, did not disappoint. Scars presented opportunities for new cards to shine (see: Mimic Vat), opportunities for old cards to shine (see: Phyrexian Devourer). Scars also had one card that I could make shine while doing the same with other cards. The card; Prototype Portal. The other cards; Mono White Silver Control. Continue reading
